Position Description:
The Audit Manager position, reports to Audit Senior Manager who has responsibility for delivering the audit service to an assigned portfolio / country.
The successful candidates will be required to:
- Plan, closely lead and execute audit engagements to ensure key risk and controls are properly identified, test procedures support the audit objectives, test procedures are completed in the budgeted timeframe and work papers support the work performed and conclusions drawn in accordance with IAG's Global Audit Methodology
- Collaborate across different global functional audit teams, to provide for an integrated and coordinated approach to risks and audit testing
- Provide guidance and direction to the team members in developing knowledge, including training and supervising auditors and senior auditors, including reviewing and critiquing completed audit work papers
- Ability to hold team accountable for meeting deliverable, quality assurance and methodology standards, including providing real-time feedback
- Draft reports and effectively edit the findings/narratives / flowcharts of others to ensure client understanding, and capture the key messages in executive meetings along with discussion of draft findings with key stakeholders
- Participate in Continuous Monitoring meetings delegated by Senior Manager and update him / her on the status of overall control environment of the entity / area assigned
- Ensure that open action plans are effectively followed up and closed on time
- As a global resource, participate in audit assignments as required in any location
- Make oral and written presentations to management as per requirement of Senior Manager
- Establish and maintain professional and credible relationships with a wide range of stakeholders including process owners, senior executives and functional heads across the delegated areas.
Job Requirements
- Typically, candidates who have trained in a large multinational, financial services or Big 4 firm and have internal audit experience or significant insurance industry experience with 9 to 12 years of audit experience in total.
- Candidates must have Professional designations/certifications, such as Certified Public Accountant/Chartered Accountant, Certified Internal Auditor, etc.
- A general knowledge of and experience in Insurance operations (e.g. underwriting, claims, finance, etc.) or comparable industry experience is preferred.
- A solid knowledge and understanding of internal auditing standards and techniques as well as general accounting methods, principles and practices
- Ability to lead, motivate and develop a team
- A proven aptitude in introducing and operating best internal audit practices
- Strong analytical and problem solving ability.
- An understanding of governance, risk management and control issues relevant to the assigned portfolio.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
