Microsoft India (R&D) Private Limited (MIRPL) Finance is driving shareholder value by partnering with Microsoft R&D team and carries the local accountability for the financials as well as statutory and compliance matters. In line with the evolving changes in technolgy, Microsoft is investing significantly in buidling its R&D capabilty with India being as one of the biggest centre outside US.

 

The Financial Controller role is an individual contributor role but the role works closely with the respective leads in each business and entity and also stakeholders across corporate office both in India and US

Responsibilities

 

This position has end to End responsibility of driving Statutory & Tax compliances. Some key areas of responsibilities will be:

• Responsible to maintain and monitor books for various requirements; a) US GAAP accounts for parent company b) Statutory books for Indian Company law/ Indian GAAP c) Tax books as per Income-Tax requirements


• Responsible for all tax, statutory and regulatory compliances of the legal entity- IT, IDT, RBI, IT, ROC etc.


• Responsible for Transfer Pricing study and compliance of all contemporaneous documentation requirements mandated by law and practice


• Responsible to ensure that all statutory compliances including adhering to FEMA rules are followed while handling all foreign currency transactions.


• Driving toward Green on Compliance Tracker through timely and accurate compliance of all returns and payments


• Translate the Statutory & regulatory changes to impact on business operations


• Collaborate with geographically spread stakeholders to drive common agenda and for mutual success


• Learn continuously and keep abreast of all relevant statutory and accounting changes.


• Closely partnering with other enabler functions - Tax, Trade, to drive compliance and controllership agenda

Qualifications

• Chartered Accountant, with strong academic achievements


• 7-10 years’ relevant experience post qualification.


• Strong relevant experience from industry and public accounting with extensive knowledge on tax and ERP (SAP functional knowledge is desirable)


• Experience with strong organization pedigree is important.


• In-depth Knowledge of Direct and Indirect Taxes including International Taxes


• Strong understanding of Book Keeping, Accounting and Close processes


• Worked in Business Finance areas
