Sr. Business Analyst, Local Expert
The Business Analyst provides critical web analytics and testing support for Expedia Local Expert (LX) Analytics team. As a member of the LX Analytics team, this position contributes by providing statistical analysis and post-experiment results to inform product development efforts, optimize existing site sections and measure the impact of the work done by the Products and Engineer teams. This position will be responsible for running A/B and multivariate tests, performing ad-hoc analyses and creating tagging requirements for new features/pages. This role is a fulltime position based in Gurgaon, India.
Responsibilities include:
• Recommend and run A/B or multivariate tests and assess test status using statistical analysis.
• Perform ad-hoc analysis as needed to support hypothesis development efforts.
• Verify necessary engineering and statistical requirement prior to the test launch including Omniture tagging and control/treatment bucketing. Trouble-shoot when the interim test results are unanticipated. Perform Hive coding for in-depth post-launch analysis.
• Assist with management of Omniture platform and ensure tracking and reporting is functioning optimally
• Support report and analysis requests from various geographic locations
Requirements:
• 1+ years of prior work experience in an e-commerce environment preferred but not required
• Excellent SQL, Microsoft Excel and PPT skills are required. Experience with Tableau publishing, Hive and Hadoop queries will be a huge plus
• Prior experience in Omniture implementation, web analytics using Omniture Site Catalyst and Discover is a plus
• Proven ability to manipulate large data (several millions rows). Perform in-depth analysis, synthesize results, and present strategies/recommendations to various audiences.
• Strong English writing and verbal communication skills. Ability to work with a global team located in Gurgaon, Bellevue/Seattle, London, and Kuala Lumpur.
• Bachelor of Science degree or higher in Computer Science, Math, Engineering, Operation Research, or quantitative disciplines desired.
