The Role

What the Business Does

Global Finance Services India is a part of RBS's Global Finance network providing a range of support services to multiple franchises and functions across RBS globally.  GFS has a functional structure and are hubbed as global Centre’s of Excellence.

Financial Reporting team is responsible for core financial control & reporting which includes ledger close, balance sheet substantiation, supplementary data packs, production of statutory & management information for P&BB, C&PB, C&IB.

As Vice President, you will:

• Provide technical guidance and support to the team for changes in IFRS and accounting requirements.


• Manage relationship with key stakeholders like Financial control teams, External auditors, Tax and Group secretariat to ensure timely and accurate delivery.


• Responsible for application of accounting policy, in respect of the Group's statutory financial reports.


• Manage the KPIs of entities under his/her responsibility and timely raising of exceptions to senior management in case of deviations from the standard timelines.


• Identify and manage process improvements, for both internal and customer services. Drive continuous improvement initiatives is a key part of the role.


• Drive, input and contribute to the resolution of complex financial issues without much hand holding.


• Proactively identifying, resolving and providing solutions to issues arising from financials produced for the division supported, using analytical and technical accounting skills.


• Awareness of changes to customer and Finance business requirements ensuring any impacts to outputs are sufficiently assessed and appropriate changes are implemented within required timescales.

 

Skills you need

In order to be successful in this role, you must have

• 8 to 10 Years of experience


• Qualified Chartered Accountant with strong background from Big 4 consulting firms preferably within the financial services industry


• Strong technical accounting skills with experience of Statutory reporting and well versed with IFRS requirements.


• Experience in financial statement preparation as per IFRS/USGAAP/IGAAP.


• Experience of managing a team of finance professionals.


• Experience of working in a financial control function.
